Council Tasks
1. Consolidate the visions of the business sector with regard to the economic and social issues that impact the sector. 2. Set-up plans, policies and programs for the development of the economic sectors. 3. Review the government's five-year plan, analyze its implications and identify the role of the business sector to realize the objectives of sustained economic and social development. 4. Conduct studies and researches on economic criteria that affect the national economy and analyze their current and future implications on operating firms. 5. Identify the problems, disadvantages and obstacles that face the various economic sectors, prioritize them, unify efforts to surmount them and cooperate with the relevant authorities to solve them. 6. Review the regulations, rules, resolutions and instructions related to the business sector issued by the different government authorities and submit required suggestions and amendments to reflect the trends of the business sector. 7. Express the legal viewpoint with regard to the proposed regulations, rules, resolutions and instructions submitted to the Council for evaluation. 8. Prepare legal studies on issues and problems that face the business sector. 9. Settle the commercial disputes between members of different chambers or between members and foreign parties through compromise or arbitration as per the adopted regulations. 10. Provide legal consultancy required by chambers with regard to various issues and explain the regulatory aspects. 11. Enhance the awareness of the business sector with regard to regulations, rules, resolutions and instructions that affect the sector and explain their implications and effects on it. 12. Form the main branch and national committees. 13. Adopt the formation of specialized centers (such as the Family Business Center, Dates Center, WTO Center, Small & Medium Enterprise Development Center) to serve specific economic categories. 14. Reinforce the relation between the representatives of the different economic firms, facilitate communication between them and develop the team spirit to serve their interests. 15. Promote the role of the economic sectors to provide information through the mass media about them and the products they provide to serve their communities. 16. Provide support o various economic sectors and activities and enhance domestic trade. 17. Prepare the business sector for the post-WTO period, follow up all issues related to the WTO, analyze the implications and gauge the effects on the relevant economic sectors. 18. Participate in enhancing the competitive advantages of national products. 19. Review the local and international changes and analyze their implications on the business sector. 20. Document and enhance cooperation between the Council and the Saudi Chambers to realize the common objectives and eliminate obstacles that may inhibit the realization of these objectives. 21. Study the distinct experiences of international chambers and utilize such experiences to develop the Saudi Chambers. 22. Develop the working environment of the Council into a digital environment and assist the Chambers to apply the same and ensure their readiness for such a shift by providing technical assistance to them to cope with the new developments. 23. Supervise the elections of the Saudi Chambers. 24. Settle the disputes that may arise in the Boards of the Chambers or between different Chambers. 25. Establish an advanced data base to serve the business sector in general and the Chambers in particular. 26. Provide information and data about the business sector and the Saudi and Foreign Chambers and any information that may help in consolidating the data exchange and in developing relations and activities between the two sides. 27. Participate in local and international conferences, seminars, symposiums and exhibitions and coordinate with the national entities in this regard. 28. Explore the international trade environment, study the international economic blocks and identify their effects on the economy of the Kingdom. 29. Promote the Saudi investment opportunities abroad to attract foreign investments. 30. Study the successful international experiences in the development of the business sector and circulate them to the private sector firms in coordination with relative entities. 31. Enhance and develop commercial and economic cooperation and comprehensive partnership between the Saudi and Foreign business sectors. 32. Support non-oil national exports and introduce national products to international markets and provide information to Saudi exporters about the promising markets and outlets for their products. 33. Form the joint Saudi-Foreign business councils. 34. Form delegations and supervise the arrangement of their programs for external visits. 35. Arrange for the reception of foreign commercial delegations coming to the Kingdom and ensure meeting all their requirements such as accommodation, transport and other services. 36. Establish and develop communications with the foreign ambassadors in the Kingdom and the Kingdom's ambassadors abroad. 37. Eliminate obstacles in obtaining the required visas for both Saudi and Foreign businessmen. 38. Participate in the activities of the joint bilateral Saudi committees. 39. Conduct studies about promising markets and competitors. 40. Make agreements with friendly countries to support mutual trade. 41. Encourage the establishment of joint economic projects between Saudi and Foreign firms, identify the best finance methods available and provide information and services to businessmen interested in such projects. 42. Consolidate cooperation between Foreign chambers' federations, encourage dialogue about free trade zones, and simplify the procedures for intra-trade between the countries of these chambers and exchange experience between members of these chambers. 43. Enhance the awareness of the business sector about the importance of adopting the comprehensive quality systems and applying e-commerce methods in their business and recommend certain mechanisms for this. 44. Activate the role of women and increase their share in the national economy. 45. Prepare convenient plans and programs that help the Chamber to enhance women's role in all of the Kingdom's districts. 46. Arrange training courses for women and attempt to provide new employment opportunities for them in coordination with relevant entities. 47. Apply the International Barcode System and encourage the business sector firms to use it as a substitute for paper documents in local and global trade. 48. Provide technical, financial, administrative, and training support programs to small and medium enterprises and analyze the obstacles they face in order to recommend the suitable solutions. 49. Represent the business sector in the entities concerned with labor and employment and participate in the committees related to the affairs of private sector employees. 50. Announce the government bids and make them available for prospective bidders.
